Bivius floor lamp
black powder-coated / Botticelli
The painting “The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli” was created around 1485/86 and is considered the first female nude of modern times. The client was probably Lorenzo di Pierfrancesco de' Medici, who was in love with Simonetta Vespucci, the model for the picture. The love goddess Venus was born out of a shell as a result of the miraculous fusion of heaven and water. The god of the west wind Zephyrus approaches from the left with his wife Chloris. He blows the west wind that drives Venus toward the shore where Spring waits for her with a flower-embroidered robe. A masterpiece of art history, reinterpreted in a product of crafts from the Bregenzerwald.
